Auburn, Ala (EETV) -- 88-year-old trailblazer, Harold Franklin, received a copy of the Auburn Creed as he walked across the stage at Auburn University’s fall commencement ceremony last Sunday morning. Franklin does this 56 years after his integration of Auburn as the university’s first African American student. Auburn University honored Harold Franklin as its first African American student back in 2001 with an honorary doctorate of arts and then by erecting a historic marker by the Ralph Brown Draughon Library in 2015. The 1962 Alabama State College honors graduate that went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force defended his thesis in February but was unable to partake in the spring commencement ceremonies that were postponed due to COVID-19.
MONTGOMERY, Ala (EETV) - Fifteen sites across Alabama now have access to the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Alabama's initial allocation of 40,950 doses of the virus will be divided up between long-term care residents, hospital healthcare workers, EMS providers, physician offices, and other hospital staff not associated with the point of distribution. The Alabama Department of Public Health determined the 15 hospitals to receive these shipments based on their ability to handle the ultra-cold storage needed for the vaccine.

Austin has served over 40 years in the United States Army, graduating from the US Military Academy in West Point, New York in 1975. Austin earned his Master of Arts degree from Auburn University in 1986.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Governor Kay Ivey has extended both the Mask Order and Safer at Home Order. Both of these orders have been extended until January 22 at 5pm. Alabama's state of emergency has been extended until March 8.
