(EETV)– Auburn scored two or more runs in five innings while freshmen Tanner Burns and Cody Greenhill combined for their third straight Southeastern Conference win as No. 19 Auburn defeated No. 1 Florida, 11-5, Friday night at McKethan Stadium. The loss was just Florida’s fifth at home this season, and second in league play. Auburn (31-13, 10-10 SEC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind a three-run home run from Edouard Julien in the top of the first inning and never looked back as the Tigers ultimately scored 11 runs on 15 hits.

The national title was the program’s fifth overall and second in the last three years. “It’s always wonderful to win a national championship, but it was also very nerve-wracking when you go in with a team that should win it like the one we had,” head coach Greg Williams said.

Auburn women's tennis fell to Florida 4-1 on Saturday 4-1. The Gators were led by Anna Danilina who won both singles and doubles matches. Auburn's Taylor Russo gave Auburn their only point of the match as she won convincingly 6-3 6-3. The Gators would go on to clinch the match with wins McCartney Kessler and Katie Kubicz. Auburn will return to the court as they travel to Knoxville to face Tennessee on Thursday.
