4 greek organizations placed on special status following "concerning" behavior

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Four Auburn Greek organizations are on a “Special Status,” according to the University's Office of Greek Life. University officials did not specify what those special statuses were but noted that organizations are placed on special status when "alleged behavior is concerning enough that it seems that the health and safety of students may be in jeopardy.” The University will not release specifics on the incidents, but according to Jill Martin, Director of Greek Life, “complaints typically allege misuse of alcohol or hazing.” Of Auburn’s 51 greek organizations, four have been placed on a special status.

AUBURN, Ala ( EETV) - Equestrian to welcome Georgia in an SEC matchup this Friday. The No.3 Tigers host the No.1 Bulldogs at 3 PM CT in the Auburn University Equestrian Center. The Tigers competition lineup will see seven juniors, six freshmen, one senior and two sophomore to complete their roster for the first time this season.The line-up will include three Junior all Americans Ashton Alexander, Caitlin Boyle, and Haley Iannottie at Equitation Over Fences.

Ivey Proclaims Saturday Veteran's Day

MONTGOMERY, Ala (EETV) – Governor Kay Ivey on Wednesday proclaimed Saturday, November 11, 2017 as Veterans Day in the state of Alabama and signed Executive Order 712 expanding the purpose of the Alabama Executive Veterans Network (AlaVetNet). “Veterans make up more than 12 percent of Alabama’s population; therefore, it is only fitting that we honor them by giving them the highest recognition on Veterans Day,” Governor Ivey said.

WaPo: Roy Moore accused of sexual misconduct

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (EETV) - Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, Roy Moore, has been accused of sexual misconduct by several women, according to The Washington Post. Leigh Corfman says she was 14 years old in 1979 when a then 32-year-old Moore approached her outside of a courtroom. Moore offered to watch over Corfman at the courthouse while her mother went into the courtroom for a child custody hearing.

Veterans to Receive Free Admission to Alabama State Parks

MONTGOMERY, Ala (EETV) – Governor Kay Ivey announced on Wednesday that, in conjunction with the Alabama Legislature and the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, entry into Alabama’s State Parks is now free for all Veterans. Alabama State Parks implemented the new program on November 1, 2017.
