Utility repairs to cause water outages along Samford Ave.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The Auburn Water Works Board will perform necessary maintenance work at the intersection of South Gay Street and Samford Avenue on Thursday, July 27. The eastbound lane on Samford Avenue from South Gay Street to Armstrong Street will be closed during work from 4:30 to 11 a.m.

Muguruza takes Wimbledon title

London (EETV)- After an incredible performance against Johanna Konta, Venus Williams came into the Wimbledon finals more confident than ever. The 37-year-old American battled with Spaniard Garbine Muguruza. Muguruza takes Wimbledon title lost to Venus’s sister Serena just two years ago in the Wimbledon finals and was determined not to lose again. After a tough battle Muguruza was down 4-5 and fought back to win the first set 7-5. The second set would be a completely different story as Muguruza shut out Williams by a score of 6-0. The match was ended by a long shot by Williams that was ruled in.

Auburn man arrested on multiple charges

On Thursday, July 13, 2017, the Auburn Police Division arrested Jean M. Long, age 27 from Auburn on felony warrants charging him with two counts of Burglary 3rd degree, and two counts of Theft of Property 3rd degree. The arrest stems from an investigation by Auburn Police into separate burglaries that occurred on June 23rd at a business and a storage building located on Bee Hive Road.

Tigers traveling to Hoover

Hoover, Ala (EETV)- Auburn has selected their players to represent their team at SEC Media Days. A handful of SEC teams like Kentucky and Arkansas are taking their quarterbacks, but the majority of teams will not, including Auburn. Offensive lineman Braden Smith, kicker Daniel Carlson, defensive back Tray Matthews and Head Coach Gus Malzahn are scheduled to go to Hoover, Alabama to speak to the media.

Auburn among select few to receive a $5 million grant to address Southeast water issues

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – Auburn is joining three other Southeastern universities in a $5 million research effort to help ensure water for agricultural production while maintaining healthy rivers and springs. The project, funded by a five-year grant from the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture, seeks to safeguard the sustainability of agriculture and forestry while protecting water quantity, quality and habitat in the underground Floridan Aquifer and the springs and rivers it feeds. The Floridan Aquifer is among the largest and most productive aquifers in the world and is a vital regional resource shared by Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – Auburn’s beloved icon, Nova, War Eagle VII, will not fly during pre-game events during Auburn’s 2017 football season after Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine faculty diagnosed the 18-year-old golden eagle with cardiomyopathy, a chronic disease of the heart.
