Auburn, Ala. - Auburn University announced in a statement that President Steven Leath has been appointed to the Secretary of the Council of Presidents of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU). The ALPU is a policy organization that represents and advocates for the 239 public and land-grant institutions.

According to police, a male dressed in a Halloween costume approached an 18 year old male, assaulted him by punching him in the face and then fled; as he was walking. Further investigation resulted in Wood being developed as a suspect and positively identified as the individual responsible for assaulting the victim.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Democratic nominee for Alabama governor and current Tuscaloosa mayor Walt Maddox made a visit to Auburn University Monday as part of his statewide bus tour. Maddox discussed several points on his platform including expanding the federal Medicaid program, supporting a state lottery and increasing infrastructure spending in the state. The mayor faces current Alabama governor Kay Ivey in the November 6 general election. According to an analysis by Five Thirty Eight, a national polling organization, Maddox has a less than a two percent chance of defeating Ivey in the general election.
