AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- District 3 Congressman Mike Rogers commended President Donald Trump's address to the nation Tuesday night regarding the immigration crisis at the southern border. "There is an ongoing crisis at the southern border and I commend President Trump’s efforts to secure the border," stated Rogers.
OPELIKA, Ala. (EETV)- Opelika Police are investigating after a man was allegedly caught using counterfeit currency at the USA Town Center on Christmas Eve. Police say that the suspect entered a tan colored passenger vehicle and drove away. Officials describe the suspect as a a black male, about 35 to 45 years old.
AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn Police have charged an Opelika man with Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle. Stanley Anderyous-Andrew Woods was arrested Tuesday after police say that Woods responded to the 600 block of Shug Jordan Pkwy was observed entering a 2012 Honda Accord in the 600 block of Shug Jordan Pkwy.
OPELIKA, Ala. (EETV)- Opelika Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a Fraudulent Use of a Credit/Debit Card incident at Kroger Sunday. Police describe the suspect as a black male, roughly 5’7” to 5’11” tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds.
AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Local city school districts received their scores on the recently released 2017-2018 Alabama State Department of Education scorecard. According to the report, the Auburn City School System received an overall score of 91, with each individual school except for the East Samford School receiving an A score. Opelika City Schools received an overall score of 84.

The announcement follows a concerted effort by Auburn to elevate its commitment to life-saving research, beginning with an announcement by Auburn President Steven Leath in December 2017 and subsequent awarding of $5 million for three years toward the Presidential Awards for Interdisciplinary Research, or PAIR.

According to Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones, Courtney Lockhardt will be in court Monday morning in regards to post conviction issues his attorneys will be presenting. Lockhardt was convicted of the 2008 murder of Auburn University freshman Lauren Burk.
AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn Police responded to a shooting along Holmes Avenue Friday night. According to police spokesperson Lorenza Dorsey, two adult males suffered non life threatening injuries and were transported to a Columbus hospital. Police say it appears the incident was brought about by an altercation.

The theft was said to have occurred in the 300 block of the West Thatch Concourse. According to the police incident report, two lamps, a computer monitor, an office table and an office chair were stolen.

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - In a statement released by the university, Auburn’s MBA program received third place in a two-day competition against some of the nation’s top graduate business programs in the 12th Annual National MBA Case Competition in Ethical Leadership. Students Julia Domanico, Veronica Elder, Francisca Norregard and Caroline Harrell represented Auburn, earning the student team $1,000. The competition required students to formulate recommendations to present to judges in 24 hours based on cases assigned on the first day.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn University's National Pan-Hellenic Council is advocating for a new legacy plaza on campus. Student Government Association Senator Ada Ruth Huntley introduced a resolution during Monday's meeting advocating for the plaza. The resolution reads, "National Pan-Hellenic Council legacy plazas are found on college campuses across the country, particularly historically black colleges and universities, in order to recognize the role these organizations have played in enhancing campus culture." Outgoing NPHC President Julius Hammond said that the plaza is still in the planning stages and that the resolution is a way to show student support for the project. Ole Miss is currently the only Southeastern Conference university to have a NPHC plaza.
