Basketball climbs poll to No. 17

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - After another victorious week, Auburn basketball climbs up from number 22 to number 17 in this week's AP Poll.  With their win over Mississippi State 76-68 Saturday, the Tigers claim sole possession of the SEC, going 4-0 to start conference play and 16-1 overall.  Florida (12-5) and Kentucky (14-3) follow closely behind in the standings, both 4-1 in the SEC. The Tigers now have the longest active win streak in college basketball at 14 games.

A Day On, Not A Day Off: Local MLK Day Volunteer Opportunities

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Communities across the world are planning celebrations Monday to honor the life of Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Many people who are off school or work Monday are participating in community service events, which have become a popular way to give back and honor King's legacy. For those in the Auburn area looking to give back, here are some local volunteer opportunities: The Auburn University Black Student Union and the Auburn University Alternative Student Breaks organization will be partnering to host a community service trip to Selma on Monday.  The cost is $20 which includes meals, travel and even an event t-shirt.

Bikes Reportedly Stolen Close To Mell Classroom Building

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The Auburn Police Division reports that two bicycles were stolen from a bike rack on campus close to Mell Street over the Winter Break. According to division spokesperson Lorenza Dorsey, two mountain bicycles valued at over $400.00 were taken from the rack close to the new Mell Classroom building.

OPD searching for suspects in armed bank robbery

Opelika, Alabama (EETV) -  Opelika Police Officers responded to Troy Bank & Trust on Frederick Road Thursday afternoon in reference to a robbery.  Three suspects entered the bank armed with a firearm and demanded money.

Austin Wiley ineligible for remainder of the basketball season

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn basketball forward Austin Wiley has been ruled ineligible for competition until the 2018-2019 the NCAA announced Thursday.
