Arrests made in Auburn Mall shooting case

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- On March 16, 2018, upon his release from Piedmont Midtown Medical Center, Michael Ryan Trimble, 21 years old, from Montgomery, Alabama, was arrested in obedience to warrants for the offenses of Assault 1st Degree and Reckless Endangerment.

Additionally, on March 19, 2018, Deion Sandell Brooks, 23 years old, from Waldorf, Maryland, was arrested upon his release from Piedmont Midtown Medical Center for the offenses of Assault 1st Degree and Reckless Endangerment.

Trimble and Brooks were arrested by the Muscogee County Sheriff's Department as each were released respectively on March 16, 2018, and March 19, 2018. After the arrests both were granted a hearing wherein they waived extradition.

On March 16, 2018, officers from the Auburn Police Division transported Trimble from the Muscogee County Jail to the Lee County Jail where, in addition to a $51,000 bond, he is being held for Violation of Probation regarding a previous Felony conviction. On March 19, 2018, Brooks was transported from the Muscogee County Jail to the Lee County Jail where his bond was set at $51,000.

Further investigation reasserts that Brooks and Trimble met each other, by their own accounts, for conflicting and unlawful reasons resulting in each firing upon the other. The assault charges stem from them seriously injuring each other and the charges of Reckless Endangerment because of their actions placing others at risk. The case remains under investigation.
