Campus Legend, ‘the Nun’, Reflects on Her Time at Auburn University

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- It is hard to forget — the whistle blowing, the counselors screaming and a little lady exploding like a firecracker into the auditorium. The Nun has entered the room and is ready to excite the incoming freshmen for what will hopefully be the best four years of their lives. Although only a short segment of the Camp War Eagle experience, “Fun with the Nun” gives new students a chance to meet the long-Qme campus celebrity.

Two Auburn City Schools Teachers are finalists for Alabama Teacher of the Year

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Two Auburn City Schools teachers were named finalists for the 2018-2019 Alabama Teacher of the Year Award. According to a press release from the Alabama State Department of Education, Dr. Brittney Duncan from Wrights Mill Elementary School and Dr. Blake Busbin from Auburn High School made the list of 16 finalists. The release says those teachers who made the list, “exemplify teaching at its best.” Auburn City Schools reacted to the news on their Facebook page posting, “CONGRATS: Auburn City Schools is proud to announce that we have not one, but two teachers reach this year's "Sweet 16" in the Alabama Teacher of the Year program!” The 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year will be announced May 9 at a ceremony in Montgomery.

AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn sophomore guard Jared Harper has decided to go through the NBA Draft evaluation, but is not intending to hire an agent, leaving him the flexibility to return to school for his final two seasons.

Downtown height approved to 75 feet, design now issue at hand

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - The Auburn City Council approved the downtown height proposal from 65 to 75 feet at Tuesday’s meeting. The meeting was attended by a host of the Auburn community representing a diversified people. Mayor Bill Ham opened the meeting by addressing the proposed height increase in downtown Auburn and offered a new angle to the 75 feet proposal saying maybe height is not the biggest issue, but design.

Final Lecture: Dr. Mark Wilson

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The Auburn University Student Government Association hosted its annual Final Lecture Monday night in the Mell Classroom Building. Dr. Mark Wilson, Director of Civic Learning Initiatives for the College of Liberal Arts and Director of Auburn's Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities, was this year's speaker. Wilson was selected by the student body for the honor earlier this year during the spring SGA elections.
