Graduate Business Building beam signing marks progress of construction

Auburn, Ala. - On Friday, September 7, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Auburn’s Harbert College of Business will celebrate the progress of the construction on its graduate business building with a beam signing ceremony.

The Auburn University’s Board of Trustees, administrators, donors, Harbert College faculty and students will be able to sign the support beams that will be installed in the building.

The graduate building which broke ground in April 2017, will include an atrium, breakout rooms, an innovation lab, classroom spaces, an executive boardroom and a rooftop.

A $15 million donation from Auburn Alumnus Raymond J. Harbert assisted in the origin of the building.

“I think that the new graduate building is going to provide a lot of new opportunity for growth and improvement in a lot of areas of the college of business and especially prepare the students for success after graduation,” said Alex Dalton, a senior studying in the college of business.

According to a news release, speakers at the ceremony with include the Harbert College of Business Dean Annette L. Ranft and Auburn University Provost Bill Hardgrave.

The current scheduled completion date for the building is April of 2019.
