Arrest made in connection to "fairy" assault

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn Police have arrested John David Wood in connection to a November 1 assault in the 500 block of West Magnolia Avenue. According to police, a male dressed in a Halloween costume approached an 18 year old male, assaulted him by punching him in the face and then fled; as he was walking. Further investigation resulted in Wood being developed as a suspect and positively identified as the individual responsible for assaulting the victim.

ISO to host annual Peace Dinner Wednesday

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn University's International Student Organization will be hosting their annual Peace Dinner Wednesday evening in the Student Center Ballroom. According to ISO, the event is meant to expose student to different unique cultures along with meeting students from around the world.  Event organizers say that admission to the dinner will be free for all students.

Auburn Basketball Routs South Alabama 101-58

Auburn, Ala (EETV)- The Auburn Tigers tipped off the 2018 season with an impressive 101-58 win over the South Alabama Jaguars. Auburn jumped out to 52-33 lead at half and never looked back as they outscored the Jaguars 49-28 in the second half. Auburn returns Friday to face a test from 25th ranked Washington in Auburn Arena

New Auburn council members sworn in

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The new members of Auburn's city council were officially sworn in at a ceremony Monday. Led by new Mayor Ron Anders, the members voted to elect Ward 3 Councilwoman Beth Witten as the new Mayor Pro Tem.  Witten, along with Anders and Ward 8 Councilman Tommy Dawson, are the only returning council members. The first full council meeting will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
