Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - As of Monday morning, Auburn Associate Head Coach Chuck Person was listed as a defendant in a federal bribery case. Person was a 2 time All-American for Auburn (1985, 1986) and helped lead the Tigers to the elite eight in the 1986 NCAA Tournament. Person is second on the Auburn all-time leading scorer list with 2,311 points and is fourth on the SEC all-time leading scorer list. Auburn basketball retired his jersey number (45) in 2006. He was the No. 4 overall pick in the 1986 draft by the Indiana Pacers and bounced around the NBA, finishing his career with the Seattle Sonics in 2000. After a hiatus from Auburn, Person returned to his alma mater in 2014 to be the associate head coach under current coach Bruce Pearl. Person helped coach Auburn to an 18-14 record last season, Auburn's first winning season since 2008-2009.

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) – Auburn opened their fall season traveling to Coral Gables, Fl. for the Miami Fall Invite. The Tigers had nine combined victories in singles and doubles against players from Florida Gulf Coast University, Miami, and Pittsburgh. Freshman Jaeda Daniel went 2-0 in singles play including a 6-3, 6-1 win over Miami’s 2017 NCAA Tournament semifinalist. In doubles play, senior Alizee Michaud and Daniel had a 6-1 victory against FGCU while senior Mary Katherine Lewis and Daniel took down Pittsburgh 6-0. Another notable performance for Auburn was a doubles win by junior Alannah Griffin and freshman Madeline Meredith who defeated FGCU 6-4. Lee County, Ala. (EETV) - A search of Lee County Jail records indicates that the second transit driver involved in the alleged rape on a Tiger Transit is no longer in custody. Tony Patillo is no longer listed as in custody after being arrested on Friday for multiple sexual violence charges following the alleged rape on a bus. Patillo's bail was set at $127,000. James Johnson, another transit driver was also arrested and posted a $125,000 bail earlier this week. Since the arrests, Auburn University has announced new safety features for all Tiger Ten late night buses. Background On Friday, September 15, at approximately 11:50 pm, the Auburn Police Division received a report of a male exposing himself while standing over a female in the 700 block of Aspen Heights Lane in Auburn. Responding officers located Patillo near the roadway and detained him.
AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Tony Patillo, one of the Tiger Transit bus drivers arrested on rape charges earlier this week, was always welcoming to students that got on his bus, says Auburn sophomore Carlee Coleman. Coleman rode his bus regularly and said she never felt unsafe. "He always was cheery, he made you feel safe and he talked a lot about his family or would ask me about my day at school." She even took selfies with Patillo to send to her mom to prove she was getting home safely.
