Multiple Counties deem highways, interstates impassable

Lee County, Ala. (EETV) - All primary highways and interstates in Lee County have been deemed impassable by the County Engineer in conjunction with the Emergency Management Agency. Conditions are not expected to improve greatly as the temperatures in the area are not likely to rise above freezing. Impassable road warnings have been made in Lee, Chambers, and Tallapoosa Counties in our area. Local law enforcement asks that you stay where you are and remain off the roadways at least through this afternoon. Stay with Eagle Eye TV as we continue to monitor this winter weather situation.

Lee County EMA Issues Travel Advisory Due to Winter Weather

Lee County, Ala. (EETV) – The Lee County Emergency Management Agency, in coordination with the Lee County Highway Department, has issued the following advisory for all Lee County: IMPASSABLE TRAVEL ADVISORY: On January 17, 2018 all roads and bridges in Lee County should be considered IMPASSABLE until further notice.

Auburn University announces closures

AUBURN, Ala (EETV) - Auburn University is closing tonight at 6 p.m. and will remain closed all day tomorrow in anticipation of winter weather tomorrow.  This is a developing story with more details to come. 


Herb Hand and Gus Malzahn are hoping to craft an offense at Auburn that matches the productivity of their previous partnership.​

Report: OL Coach to Leave Auburn

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn offensive line coach Herb Hand is set to become Texas' co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach.  The news of Hand's departure was first reported by Brett McMurphy and has been confirmed by a former Auburn offensive lineman to Eagle Eye.  Hand joined the Auburn coaching staff in 2016 after working for Penn State as their run-game coordinator and offensive line coach in 2014 and 2015. Hand's departure comes a month after Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn said Hand would be staying with the team through next season.

Alabama State Rep. George Bandy Dies

OPELIKA, Ala. (EETV)- Alabama State Rep. George Bandy, D-Opelika, passed away Tuesday at the age of 72. Bandy was first elected to the Alabama Legislature in 1994 and represented portions of Lee and Russell Counties.

Basketball climbs poll to No. 17

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - After another victorious week, Auburn basketball climbs up from number 22 to number 17 in this week's AP Poll.  With their win over Mississippi State 76-68 Saturday, the Tigers claim sole possession of the SEC, going 4-0 to start conference play and 16-1 overall.  Florida (12-5) and Kentucky (14-3) follow closely behind in the standings, both 4-1 in the SEC. The Tigers now have the longest active win streak in college basketball at 14 games.

A Day On, Not A Day Off: Local MLK Day Volunteer Opportunities

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Communities across the world are planning celebrations Monday to honor the life of Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Many people who are off school or work Monday are participating in community service events, which have become a popular way to give back and honor King's legacy. For those in the Auburn area looking to give back, here are some local volunteer opportunities: The Auburn University Black Student Union and the Auburn University Alternative Student Breaks organization will be partnering to host a community service trip to Selma on Monday.  The cost is $20 which includes meals, travel and even an event t-shirt.

Alabama Joins Effort To End Human Trafficking

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (EETV) – Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has joined Georgia-based nonprofit organization, Street Grace, and 10 other attorneys general in participating in an effort to raise public awareness of sex trafficking in Alabama.
