Auburn Wins Third Place Game vs Arizona 73-57

Lahaina, HI (EETV)- Auburn and Arizona faced off last night in the third place game of the Maui Invitational. Auburn would defeat the Wildcats 73-57 with a strong second half preformance. Auburn’s Bryce Brown set the record for the most three pointers in Auburn history. Brown passes Wesley Person’s previous record of 262. Auburn’s bench outscored the Wildcats 33-4 with 15 points coming from Malik Dunbar. With the win, Auburn improves to 5-1 and will return to Auburn Arena next Wednesday against Saint Peters at 7 PM.

Auburn Comes Up Short Against Duke 78-72

Auburn and Duke faced off in a top 10 matchup in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational. Auburn looked to solve the Blue Devils high powered offense led by R.J Barret, Zion Williamson, and Cam Reddish. Auburn would fall to the Blue Devils 78-72 in a hard fought game. Auburn's Jared Harper led the Tigers with 22 points and Austin Wiley added 17 points on the night. The loss sends Auburn's record to 3-1 and they will play Arizona at 10:30 PM on ESPN2.

Auburn Basketball Defeats Xavier 88-79 In An OT Thriller

Lahaina, HI (EETV)- Auburn basketball made their first apperance in the Maui Invatational against the Xavier Muskateers in the first game of day 1.  In the first half, both offenses could not gain any momentum as their were 4 lead changes in the first 7 minutes of the game.  Auburn would find their rythm as they would stretch the lead to 10 with help from Byrce Brown who posted 13 points in the first half.Xavier would cut the lead to 33-28 with an 8-1 run going into halftime. In the second half, Auburn's Jared Harper would light it up dropping 17 of his 25 points in the second half alone as Auburn held a five point lead with a minute left. Xavier came from behind and tied the game late at 77 with only 26 seconds to play. The game would go into overtime and Auburn would prevail 88-79 as they hit some crucial free throws down the stretch. Auburn will face off against the Duke Blue Devils tomorrow night at 6PM central time on ESPN.

Auburn Football defeats Liberty

Auburn defeated Liberty 53-0 with a strong performance on both sides of the ball. Auburn accounted for 541 yards of offense and Jarret Stidham threw two touchdown passes. Auburn's defense had a blocked punt, and two interceptions including one of a touchdown. Auburn will face off the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl next week.

Alabama's first dog passes away

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (EETV)- Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey's dog Bear died today according to a statement from the governor's office. Officials say that the 14 year old chow mix passed following ongoing health issues. Ivey adopted Bear from a local vet in 2005 after he was hit by a car.

Auburn Defeats Mississippi College 103-52

Auburn, Alabama (EETV)- The Auburn Tigers showcased their offensive talents at home by defeating Mississippi College 103-52.  The game was never in doubt, but the Choctaws of Mississippi came within 11 points with 17:37 left in the second half. The Tigers shut down any talk of an upset outscoring Mississippi College 52-12 after the 11 point scare.  Auburn will now look ahead to the Maui Invitational as they face off against Xavier in the first round. The game is scheduled for Nov. 19 and tip-off is at 1:30 p.m.

Auburn University President Steven Leath appointed to APLU

Auburn, Ala. - Auburn University announced in a statement that President Steven Leath has been appointed to the Secretary of the Council of Presidents of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU). The ALPU is a policy organization that represents and advocates for the 239 public and land-grant institutions.

President Leath outlines goals in State of the University address

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn University President Steven Leath gave his 'State of the University' address during Tuesday night's University Senate meeting. Leath discussed some of the new initiatives his team is working to implement in the coming months. “These efforts are critical to providing the best student experience in higher education, and ensuring that while here, our students are transformed from inquisitive scholars to engaged citizens,” Leath said. Leath also mentioned some of the new partnerships Auburn has launched with government and corporate organizations. “The investments we’re making today will allow us to collaborate with a broader range of organizations tomorrow,” said Leath. Leath also talked about Auburn's strategic planning process.

Former Auburn baseball player arrested Sunday

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Former Auburn University baseball player Joshua Myron Anthony was arrested on drug charges Sunday. According to Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones, Anthony was arrested by the Opelika Police Department. Opelika Police Department spokesperson Shane Healy told in a statement to Eagle Eye TV... Anthony played both third and first base during the 2018 season.

Chuma Okeke named SEC Player of the Week

AUBURN, Ala - Chuma Okeke has been named the Southeastern Conference Player of the week, following his performance in the Tiger’s win against Washington Friday night. This is Okeke’s second SEC honor, as he was named SEC Freshman of the week back in the 2017 season. Okeke shined Friday night to help the Tigers gain their second win of the season.

Arrest made in connection to "fairy" assault

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn Police have arrested John David Wood in connection to a November 1 assault in the 500 block of West Magnolia Avenue. According to police, a male dressed in a Halloween costume approached an 18 year old male, assaulted him by punching him in the face and then fled; as he was walking. Further investigation resulted in Wood being developed as a suspect and positively identified as the individual responsible for assaulting the victim.
