Auburn volleyball coach to leave program

The team has a 7-22 overall record this season and is 1-17 in the SEC.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn volleyball's season ended yesterday with the Tigers only SEC win of the year over Alabama, but head coach Rick Nold is leaving the program.

Auburn Athletics Director Allen Greene announced Auburn and Nold agreed to mutually part ways.

"We are appreciative of Rick and his contributions to Auburn and its volleyball program the past nine years,” Greene said. “He has represented Auburn in a first-class manner and has impacted our student-athletes in a positive way.”

As the Tigers head coach for nine seasons, Nold had a 127-139 record. His 127 wins are the second most in program history. The team has a 7-22 overall record this season and is 1-17 in the SEC.

“I’ve enjoyed my time as the head coach at Auburn and appreciate the opportunity to lead the program over the last nine years,” Nold said. “Auburn is a special place and I will always treasure the relationships with the countless athletes, staff and fans that have been established.”

Auburn Athletics will begin a national search for Nold's replacement immediately.
