Auburn women's golf finishes T-8 at Landfall Tradition in Wilmington

AUBURN, Ala. — This past weekend, Auburn women's golf competed at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, North Carolina, finishing tied for eighth out of 18 teams. The No. 2-ranked Tigers shot 36 over par collectively.

No. 4 nationally ranked Anna Davis led the way for Auburn with a 4-over-par 220 (72-71-77), securing her third top-10 finish in her last four tournaments. Davis finished tied for ninth as the only Tiger in the top 10 after firing a team-best 71 on Saturday.

Molly Brown Davidson posted the team's second-lowest score, finishing tied for 26th at 8-over-par 224 (75-73-76).

Rounding out Auburn's scoring lineup were Anna Trevino (12-over-par), Carys Loy (15-over-par), and Casey Weidenfeld (21-over-par).

Auburn was in the top half of the field after two rounds, but a challenging final-round 18 over par dropped them into a three-way tie for eighth alongside Kent State and host University of North Carolina Wilmington.

At the top of the team leaderboard, No. 6 Duke put together a performance to take home first place. The Blue Devils finished 5 over par overall, winning the tournament by eight strokes over the nation's top-ranked team, Wake Forest, which tied for second with South Carolina at 13 over par.

Freshman Rianne Malixi led the way for Duke with a strong 12-under-par 204 (68-64-72) to win the individual title by nine strokes after building a massive lead with an 8-under-par 64 in the second round.

Senior Macy Pate from Wake Forest finished second individually with a 3-under-par 213 (70-74-69), her best finish since winning the Jackson T. Stephens Cup.

The Landfall Tradition was the Tigers' last event of the fall season. After completing five tournaments this fall, Auburn will return to competition in late January at the University of Virginia's Collegiate Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico.
