Auburn Shuts Out Samford 52-0

Auburn, AL (EETV)- Auburn picked up their eighth win of the season as they defeated Samford 52-0. With a heavy rainstorm going through most of the game, conditions were challenging for both teams.

The Tigers defense set the tone early forcing two turnovers on Samford's first two drives. Auburn would capitalize as Jatarvius Whitlow would score from one yard out.

Whitlow would score his second touchdown of the game in the second quater to give Auburn a 14 point lead. The Tigers extended the lead to twenty-one points as Harold Joiner caught a pass and took it in for the score. The completion made Nix the all time leader for completions as a freshman in Auburn history.

The Tigers would take a 31-0 lead into halftime after a Shaun Shivers touchdown and an Anders Carlson field goal to end the half.

Auburn was able to showcase their depth as backup quarterback Cord Sandberg threw for two touchdows to Zach Farrar which was the the first for both of them in an Auburn jersey.

Auburn would go on to win by a score of 52-0 improving their record to 8-3. The Tigers will return to Jordan-Hare Stadium next week to face Alabama in the Iron Bowl for the final home game of the season.
