Auburn equestrian team wins national championship

WACO, Texas (EETV)– The No. 2 Auburn equestrian team put together a true team effort Saturday afternoon and captured the 2018 NCEA Championship crown, defeating No. 1 Georgia, 10-5, in the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas. The national title was the program’s fifth overall and second in the last three years. “It’s always wonderful to win a national championship, but it was also very nerve-wracking when you go in with a team that should win it like the one we had,” head coach Greg Williams said.

Beyonce makes history at Coachella 2018

Auburn, ALA (EETV) - Beyoncé Knowles made history this past weekend by being the first black woman and woman of color to headline Coachella (the valley and music festival). Knowles was scheduled to perform last year at the popular festival, but had to cancel because of the delivery of her twins.  The singer/dancer performed for her fans hit songs from her most recent album "Lemonade", "Crazy in Love", "Deja Vu" and surprised the BeyHive with a reunion with Destiny's Child.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- This week's Lee County Humane Society Pet of the Week is Rocko. Rocko is three years old, and according to the Humane Society staff he's a big friendly dude whose interests include chasing tennis balls (he's working on learning to bring them back), nice long walks, and hanging out with people.

Student Act renovation and new parking deck on the docket for Friday's Auburn Board of Trustee meeting

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Several facilities improvements are set to be on the docket at the Auburn University Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for Friday. According to the released agenda, board members will be looking to approve six new facility projects including several athletic facility improvements, the renovation of the Student Activities Center and a new parking deck on South College Street near the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center.

(EETV) – Governor Kay Ivey is applauding the announcement that for the 12th year in a row, Alabama’s First Class Pre-K program is being hailed as one of the nation’s highest quality state-funded pre-kindergarten programs for four-year-olds. This report released today by the National Institute for Early Education Research in its 2017 State of Preschool Yearbook.

Auburn student wins prestigious scholarship

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)– Auburn University sophomore Elizabeth Farrar will work this summer on a research project in Germany that focuses on the parasites that cause sleeping sickness, a disease deadly to both humans and animals. Farrar is one of only 150 students nationwide selected to conduct undergraduate research in Würzburg, Germany, this summer as a German Academic Exchange Service Research Intern in Science and Engineering, or RISE, undergraduate fellow.

Auburn's offense continues struggle in loss to Mississippi State

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Despite starting the season off hot, the Auburn offense has continued to cool-off with the Tigers struggling to get on base, let along score.  In their most recent 7-2 loss to Mississippi State Saturday, the Tigers once again struggled to score going 4-20 at the plate, posting a .200 batting average.
