AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - February 28th was a special day on Auburn University's campus as Aubie the Tiger celebrated his 43rd birthday. On the second floor of the Melton Student Center all friends and family of Aubie could take a picture with the esteemed mascot himself, sign his birthday cards, or grab a cookie with Aubie's face on it.

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - The lone finalist in the search for Auburn University's next president following current president Jay Gogue's second retirement, Dr. Christopher Roberts, hosted a student forum last week to hear from the Auburn student body. While he has not yet been formally confirmed as the next president of the university, many students asked questions regarding his positions and policies for when he likely does become president.

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn Parks and Recreation announced this week several new features of the Frank Brown Recreation Center (located at 235 Opelika Road). The announcement included updates that would be available to Auburn's public later this January and ones that have just arrived. The Frank Brown Rec Center will be embracing the growing trend of esports with the opening of its new Esports Room in addition to expanding to a membership card system for the new Esports Room, free basketball, and racquetball.

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - This spring, universities of the southeastern region of the U.S. will be convening in Auburn to discuss the important future of artificial intelligence in agriculture. Artificial intelligence, the automation of robotics, has been a widely researched topic in the last decade and a swath of southeastern universities will be addressing and sharing information about AI's future in agriculture in March.

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn University announced this week that 2022's prospective applicants to the university had broken several records, including number of applicants, most academically accomplished, and most diverse applying class. Auburn has already achieved more than 40,000 freshmen applications for next fall's semester, an increase of 68.5% and 155% from fall 2021 and fall 2020, respectively.

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn University's Division of Student Affairs hosted two forums today answering questions that students employed by the university may have regarding President Joe Biden's September 9th executive order mandating vaccinations for many, including all federal workers and contractors. A hard December 8th deadline has been set for employees of federal contractors, including Auburn University, to become fully vaccinated or face termination. This is a result of President Biden taking a much harder stance on vaccination as the COVID-19 Delta variant has caused case numbers to spike.

(EETV) - Auburn University Campus Safety reported another incident of sexual assault Tuesday afternoon after a female student divulged to police she was raped Friday night at a fraternity house. This is the third such incident of sexual assault that AU Campus Safety has reported through mass emails to students since the semester began mid-August.

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Following a brief closure for exhibit changeout, Auburn’s crown jewel of fine art will be reopening its doors June 29th to showcase two brand new exhibitions. The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, in its first month of a return to normal occupancy and traffic patterns, is introducing its collaborative exhibitions in “Outside In” and “Crafting America.”
