Auburn Men's Basketball struggles against Florida on the road

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- With a disappointing ending the No. 12 Auburn Tigers were unable to defeat the Florida Gators in Gainesville. Auburn did not snap the 14 game losing streak in The Swamp. For two years, head coach Todd Golden for Florida assisted under Bruce Pearl at Auburn making this game personal.

From the start of the game the Gators came out ready to play and started off 7-0 in the first minutes of the first half. With multiple shots missed at the start Johni Broome was able to get a quick dunk to score. Johni Broome and K.D Johnson both had a total of 12 points each. Riley Kugel for the Gators ended up having an impressive game with 22 points.

Free throws throughout the game were definitely something that Auburn struggled with. The Tigers shot for 53% from the free throw line.

Although Auburn out rebounded Florida, the Gators capitalized big time on their defense. With six blocks and 10 steals Florida made it hard for Auburn to come back from an early deficit.

Similar to The Jungle, The Swamp was loud and rowdy for their home team. Auburn however is still the only SEC team undefeated at home, but the Tigers seem to struggle on the road.

The Auburn Tigers will take on the South Carolina Gamecocks on Wednesday at Neville Arena. They will have the opportunity to keep their home winning streak alive. Following the game on Wednesday Auburn will play the Kentucky Wildcats in a huge SEC showdown.
