Auburn Gymnastics adds two four-star recruits to 2024 class

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – Jeff Graba and Auburn gymnastics added two four-star recruits to the growing list of commits in as many days this week.

U.S. national team member Katelyn Jong was the first to make the announcement when she posted her commitment on Instagram Wednesday night.

“I can’t believe it,” she wrote. “I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Auburn University on a full-ride athletic scholarship!! So thankful for my family, friends, coaches, and everyone who help me get here! Can’t wait to be an Auburn Tiger! WAR EAGLE!”

Jong has a lengthy resumé including winning the all-around gold at the junior women’s 2021 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships.

She was followed by Missouri State Champion, Sophia Bell.

“At 11 years old I found my love for Auburn, and I knew immediately they were the place I wanted to call home,” Bell said in an Instagram post announcing her commitment. “Committing to my dream school would have never been possible without my amazing coaches and gym family at Xtreme!”

Bell competes at level 10 and in 2021 won first in the all-around, floor and bars at the Missouri Optional State Championships.

The two commits join five-star prospect, Olivia Ahern, as members of Auburn’s 2024 class. With the new additions, Auburn now has the 4th-ranked class for 2024.
