Downtown Auburn enjoyed a Mardi Gras parade on Feb. 22

AUBURN, Ala (EETV) - Downtown Auburn enjoyed the annual Mardi Gras parade, hosted by Krewe De Tigris on Feb. 22.

The parade included beads, floats, and tons of celebration. This is the fifth year that Krewe De Tigris has hosted the Mardi Gras parade under the theme "Mardi Gras & All That Jazz." Krewe De Tigris, a social organization, has a passion for bringing together the community by celebrating the history of the State of Alabama where the current practice of Mardi Gras celebrations began.

Multiple citizens dressed in jazz themed costumes and enjoyed the spring weather, as downtown merchants offered special discounts. The parade brought together friends, family, and the Auburn community. When asked the celebration, two women dressed in costumes told Eagle Eye that "we love to see all of our community come together, not just Auburn but Opelika and Lee County."

Following the parade, a New Orleans jazz band played until 6 p.m, continuing the joyous celebration in downtown Auburn.
