Freshman Hugo Gonzalez breaks 3 Auburn records at swimming invitational

Athens, Ga. (EETV) - Freshman Hugo Gonzalez headlined Swimming and Diving at the Georgia Invitational this weekend.

Gonzalez knocked off the 200 IM mark on Friday, and the 400 IM mark on Saturday. He even broke Pascal Wollach's school record of 1:39.65 in the 200 backstroke that stood since 2009 in the NCAA Championship. 

Gonzalez's 400 IM time of 3:39.28 is now the nations fastest time so far. 

Diving won 3 of 6 events as Turnham and Maillard each won individual events. 

Auburn finished the invitational in fourth place with a score of 664.

Diving's next invitational will take place at home at the Martin Aquatics Center, Dec. 17-19.
