Auburn cross country has two top-four finishes

Tuscaloosa, Ala. (EETV) - Cross country competed in the Crimson Classic Friday. The women's team finished second in the event, and the men's team finished fourth. 

Junior runner Brenda Kigen also won the Crimson Classic 6k for Auburn.

"She [Kigen] beat some really good people and just keeps getting better and better every week," assistant coach David Barnett said. "We are really gaining a lot of confidence in her."

Kigen clocked a 20:23.4 to get her the top spot.

For the Auburn men, Senior Coleman Churitch was the top finisher in the 8k, clocking 24:52.0 to finish at No. 16.

"I had a few really tough years of just ups and down, so it's a great feeling," Churitch said. "Everyone is improving every single meet. As a team, collectively we're looking really strong."

Auburn will compete in Athens, Georgia, on Oct. 27 in the SEC Cross Country Championships.
