The Auburn men’s tennis team kicked off its 2024 campaign this past weekend, traveling with six roster members to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to participate in the SEC Challenge.
Auburn lost its second straight home Super Regional Saturday, 5-3, as the Tigers gave up five straight runs to Ole Miss. Even with eight strikeouts and 10 groundouts forced, Auburn couldn’t stop Ole Miss’ long-ball hitting, with Ole Miss getting two home runs on Saturday.
Ole Miss used a pair of homers Friday to outlast the No. 4 Auburn, 6-4, in the opening game of the Super Regional despite a double-digit strikeout from Andreas Alvarez. The Tigers' offense turned cold, scoring four runs—their lowest run total over the last five games dating back to the SEC tournament.
