Report by the Chronicle of Higher Education Outlines Potential Athletic Influence In Auburn's Academic Operations

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- A recent report by the Chronicle of Higher Education issues a scathing report of how Auburn University’s Athletics Department allegedly wields substantial influence of some portions of the University’s academic units. The report outlined some of the details associated with the fallout over the large number of student athletes enrolled in the College of Liberal Art’s Public Administration major at one time. The article states that at one point in 2013, Auburn’s Public Administration major held 40 percent of all scholarship football players.

New SGA Executive Officers Announced

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The names of the next appointed Auburn University Student Government Association executive officers have been released. According to SGA Vice President-elect Schyler Burney; Mackenzie Yelton, Patrick Starr, Austin Chandler, Jordan Kramer and Bailey Hand have been identified as the next appointed executive team. Yelton, who currently serves as SGA’s Executive Secretary, has been identified as the next Chief of Staff.

BSU ties student's common "thread" with campus demonstration

AUBURN, AL. (EETV) - Auburn's Black Student Union is working to show students unity through public art.  The Unity project took place on the Campus Green Friday allowing students to "weave" their story into the Auburn Family.  "It all starts with being an Auburn student", explains BSU Marketing Director Jayla Coleman, "It is the thing that ties us all together." The demonstration began with students tying a string to a pole in the center of a ring of poles, each with a different identifier attached to it.

One man dead following overnight shooting in Auburn

AUBURN, AL (EETV) - One man is dead following an overnight shooting in Auburn. At approximately 10:18 pm Thursday night, the Auburn Police Division responded to a report of shots being fired in the 900 block of Old Mill Rd.

Tigers handle basketball powerhouse at home

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - No. 10 Auburn took down basketball power-house Kentucky 76-66 at home in front of a sold-out crowd Tuesday night. "They weren't expecting this environment," said Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl. "We showed them something tonight even though it wasn't our best game.”

Alabama Exports Hit New Highs

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (EETV) - Governor Kay Ivey announced today that Alabama exports reached a record $21.7 billion in 2017, powered by rising overseas shipments of products such as automobiles, aircraft components, chemicals, paper and minerals. New government trade figures show that exports of Alabama-made goods and services increased more than 6 percent from 2016’s total of $20.5 billion, the state’s previous annual record.

Sartore, a National Geographic photojournalist, who has snapped his way around the globe and captured the eye of millions with his photos of hundreds of endangered animals.  Joel Sartore has traveled the world capturing endangered animals with his phenomenal photography skills and showing us how we change and affect the ecosystem and now he is coming to Auburn to share them with you.

Auburn Women's basketball holds on for the win

Auburn earned their second straight SEC victory last night against Vanderbilt with a tight score of 63-60. The Tigers (13-11, 4-8 SEC) fought off a second half surge from the Commodores (6-20, 2-10 SEC) as Vanderbilt had chewed away Auburn's 20 point halftime lead down to just two points in the final minutes.
