Auburn and Tuscaloosa Mayors Continue Annual Iron Bowl Charity Wager

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – This year, City of Auburn Auburn Mayor Bill Ham Jr. and City of Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox will continue their tradition of a $100 Iron Bowl wager to benefit local charities. The wager began in 2005 when the mayors agreed that the loosing team's mayor would donate $25 to a charity of the other city’s choice.

SGA Passes A Pair of Funding Laws

The SGA passed multiple laws expanding program funds for various activities. They passed the program expansion fund laws for the Red Barn Series and the Special Activities.  The Red Barn Series is a 2-day concert series involving singer-songwriter, alternative, and indie bands.

Grants Given to Preserve Alabama's Natural Resources

MONTGOMERY, Ala (EETV) – Governor Kay Ivey on Tuesday announced the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) has approved more than $33.5 million for five new projects and amendments to two existing projects which focus on the restoration and conservation of Alabama’s natural resources. “The harm caused by the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill remains ever-present in our minds today,” Governor Ivey said.
