AUBURN Ala. (EETV) -- Auburn University’s student-entrepreneurs now have a place to call home. The Tiger Cage Accelerator and Incubator, which officially opened with a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Friday, Oct. 6, at the Auburn Research Park, provides student-led startups with valuable resources like office and meeting space, as well as access to mentors.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - The Donald E. Davis Arboretum at Auburn University is taking orders for the fall plant sale. The plant sale features the Auburn Azalea series, which is a collection of hybrid native azaleas that were created through the efforts of Auburn scientists, faculty and staff over the course of decades. The azaleas are planted throughout the university landscape and come in various colors, including multiple shades of orange.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Floodwaters from Hurricane Harvey have become breeding ground for West Nile virus outbreaks. Texas health officials have reported 89 cases of the virus and three deaths as of late September. Now, Auburn scientists have identified climatic, ecological and socioeconomic factors contributing to the virus.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (EETV) - Governor Kay Ivey announced Wednesday that the Governor’s Office of Volunteer Services has received $1,727,919 in funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service to administer eight Alabama AmeriCorps programs for 2017-2018. Combined with $1,320,805 in local match funds, the total investment for Alabama is 3,048,724.

Montgomery, Ala. (EETV) - The Alabama National Guard will provide an RC-26 aircraft and five crew to aid Puerto Rico in response to the recent hurricane impact to the island. Governor Kay Ivey authorized Major General Sheryl Gordon, Adjutant General of the Alabama National Guard, to send the RC-26 based on the unique capabilities the aircraft will provide in supporting the efforts of Puerto Rican emergency managers and the National Guard.
