AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn opened its fall exhibition schedule on Sunday with a 20-3 victory over Gulf Coast State in 10 innings. While the Commodores kept the game quiet early, the Tigers pulled away with a massive surge to kick off their 2026 fall season.
Transfer sophomore Katelyn Hubley set the tone early in her Auburn debut, throwing three perfect innings without allowing a baserunner and closing her outing with back-to-back strikeouts.
Gulf Coast State freshman Brooklyn Bishop held her own against the Tigers. Bishop kept Auburn off the board through the first two innings, recording three strikeouts while giving up just one hit to keep the game scoreless early on.
Auburn broke through in the bottom of the third with an RBI single from leadoff hitter Kylie Shaw to score the opening run. Shaw was a constant threat for the Tigers, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases.
The offense opened up further in the fourth when freshman Cece Springfield launched a solo home run to right field, later following it up with a three-run shot in her next at-bat. Senior Ma'Nia Womack provided major damage in the seventh inning, with a grand slam that brought the lead to 20-1.
Junior Ella Harrison and senior Makayla Stephens locked things down on the mound for the Tigers, with Harrison striking out five consecutive batters across two scoreless innings.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, Auburn hosts Northeast Alabama Community College before taking a trip to Tallahassee to take on the Florida State Seminoles on Sunday, Oct. 18.
