AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – The Melton Student Center Patio renovations have concluded and the new outdoor area is open to the public.
The new 21,200 square foot addition cost roughly three million dollars. The space includes engaging exterior study areas, space for small-scale events and additional multi-purpose lounge areas for student use. The patio also features an event lawn with tiered seating and audio-visual components, lounge and study areas, and extensive landscape and hardscape improvements.
To celebrate the opening of the patio Auburn’s Student Involvement Organization has started hosting “Midday Music.” From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. students can enjoy a rotating mix of acoustic music and curated DJ sets. Food and drinks are also provided.
As students return to campus, the new patio offers additional space for both academic and social activities.
