AUBURN, Ala (EETV) - Auburn University’s Finance Department will host the annual FMA Leadership summit on Friday, Oct. 17, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Lowder Hall 113A. Among notable speakers is U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville from Alabama.
Tommy Tuberville was the former head coach of Auburn from 1998 to 2008. During his time at Auburn, Tuberville led the Tigers to an SEC championship, eight bowl games, five SEC West division titles, and an undefeated 13-0 season.
Associated Press named Tuberville the SEC Coach of the Year in 1997. Tuberville got many notable awards, including the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award and AP Coach of the Year.
Tuberville ran and was elected as one of the Alabama United States Senate members in 2020 and stood alongside the America first movement.
Senator Tuberville has represented Alabama in the U.S. Senate since 2021. Tuberville serves on the Agriculture, Armed Services, Nutrition and Forestry, Education, Labor, and Veterans Rights Senate committees.
In May, Tuberville announced his run for the 2026 Alabama governor.
The Auburn Finance Department chose to host Tuberville as a speaker because of his financial leadership and a professional perspective on public accounting and corporate finance.
