BBFD hosts annual Hunger Banquet to raise awareness for food insecurity

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Beat Bama Food Drive (BBFD), one of Auburn's largest student-led organizations, will host their annual Hunger Banquet on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center, Rooms 306 A&B.

This event provides guests with an interactive learning experience about food insecurity in East Alabama. All attendees will be randomly given meals that highlight different income levels across the East Alabama region, focusing on the difficulties of access to healthy food.

The Hunger Banquet is part of BBFD’s overall effort to help local families and residents and compete against the University of Alabama in collecting the most food donations. Organizers say the event aims to inspire empathy and action within the Auburn community.

Admission is free, and attendees will receive complimentary food during the event.
