Auburn Women’s Basketball gets transfer commit Precious Johnson

Auburn, ALA (EETV) - Precious Johnson will join the Auburn Tigers Women's Basketball team in the 2022 Spring semester after signing a financial aid agreement.

Johnson is a 6-foot-5-inch center from the University of Texas. Johnson was heralded as the No. 33 post player in the class of 2020 according to ESPN HoopGurlz and averaged a double-double in her senior year at Sterling High School.

Johnson appeared in nine games for the Longhorns last year, averaging four minutes a game. Johnson's experience in the NCAA tournament will be to the Tigers' benefit. Texas went to the Elite Eight in the tournament under head coach Vic Schaefer and assistant coach Johnnie Harris-- now Auburn's head coach.

"We are so excited to have Precious join our Auburn women's basketball family," Harris said. "Her size and athleticism will give us a major presence in the paint. Equally important, she brings the experience of competing against All-Americans and being a contributor on an Elite Eight team. Beyond basketball, she is the kind of teammate that will raise the level of our team on and off the court."

Auburn tips off the season Thursday, Nov. 4, in an exhibition match against Miles College.
