Bryan Harsin Tests Positive for COVID-19

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin tested positive for COVID-19, he announced Friday evening.

“Yesterday I tested positive for the COVID-19 virus," Harsinsaid. "I am isolating at home while experiencing no symptoms."

Linebackers coach Jeff Schmedding, will take over as the interim head coach until Harsin gets out of quarantine. Schmedding was Harsin’s defensive coordinator at Boise State.

“I have full confidence in our coaching staff and team. I know they will continue to prepare with the same intensity and focus that they have since camp started,” Harsin said.

Harsin has not publicly announced if he has been vaccinated.

Auburn starts off the season against Akron in Jordan-Hare Stadium on Sept. 4.
