Hoppa, Tigers Anounce 2021 Soccer Schedule

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) The wait is over for supporters of the Auburn soccer program who were anxiously awaiting news regarding their team’s journey this fall. Tigers head coach Karen Hoppa announced her squad’s 2021 schedule of opponents on Wednesday afternoon.

"We're thrilled to announce our 2021 schedule, which includes seven teams from last year's scaled-down NCAA Tournament along with several other annual tournament contenders," Hoppa said. "This schedule is extremely competitive and is one that will challenge our team to build on last year's late season success."

The fall season will begin with a pair of exhibition matches: a home contest against Memphis accompanied by an away game at Mercer. From there, an 18-game regular season  — with 10 matches against SEC opponents — commences.

Regular season non-conference play begins on the road at Samford on Aug. 19 followed closely by a home contest with Brigham Young on Aug. 21. From there, the Tigers will travel to both Troy and South Alabama before beginning a five-game homestand against UAB, UT-Chattanooga, Florida State, Alabama A&M and UGA in their conference opener.

Following the homestand, Hoppa’s squad will take on the likes of Tennessee, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Mississippi State, LSU, Florida, Arkansas and Ole Miss before wrapping up the season at Alabama in the soccer edition of the Iron Bowl.

15 of Auburn's 18 regular season opponents posted a record of  .500 or better last season; seven went on to make the NCAA Tournament.

Television broadcasts and radio calls are TBA. Eagle Eye will provide updates when this information is announced.
