Justin Powell to Transfer from Auburn after Injury-Shortened Season

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – Justin Powell has announced he will enter his name into the transfer portal after a concussion ended his season early.

The 6-foot-6 freshman from Kentucky played in just 10 games averaging 11.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists while shooting 44.2% from the 3-point range. Powell also scored 26 points in back-to-back games against South Alabama and Memphis.

In Auburn’s 68-66 loss to Texas A&M, Powell fell back and hit his head on the court, suffering his season-ending concussion.

Powell was a 3-star recruit and was the 85th-ranked prospect in the 2020 ESPN 100.
