AACT presents "Sally Cotter and the Censored Stone"

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - The Auburn Area Community Theatre (AACT) Young Performers present “Sally Cotter and the Censored Stone,” at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center.

Performances are scheduled for February 25, 26, 27, and March 1, 4, 5, and 6 at 6:30 p.m. with matinees on Feb. 27 and March 6 at 3:30 p.m.

Written by Dean O'Carroll, the play is a parody of a well-known and well-loved book series. Sally falls asleep while reading books about a certain juvenile wizard and dreams that she is a student at Frogbull Academy of Sorcery. When danger is lurking, it is up to Sally and her new friends Dave and Harmonica to save the day. Will she become the hero like the one in her favorite series? Who is the mysterious Censor who keeps rewriting the story as it goes along?

The AACT is following all recommended health and safety protocols, including distanced seating and requiring face coverings. Because of the spaced seating, families and guests attending together are encouraged to purchase tickets at the same time so they will be seated together.

Children, student and senior tickets are $8. Adult tickets are $10. A pre-recorded version of the show is also available to watch on-demand from March 8-10. Tickets are $10 for a single viewer or $25 for a family pass.
