Another Slow Start, Another SEC Loss for Auburn

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) Auburn's shooting struggles costs them another digit in the loss column as Alabama's quick 11-0 start deemed too much for a Tiger comeback. Coach Flo and crew came into Foster Auditorium on Sunday afternoon looking for their first SEC win.

The Tide completed six of its first seven attempts and kept rolling with their lead throughout the first half. The Tigers shot back late in the second quarter, closing the gap to two, however, Alabama finished the half on a 7-0 run.

On offense, Auburn struggled from behind the arc with only 4-of-19 triples. Honesty Scott-Grayson led her team in points (17), steals (5) and assists (4). Senior teammate Unique Thompson recorded her 10th straight double-double, her 52nd of her career. Thompson scored 10 points and 10 had rebounds, while Alaina Rice also set a season-high with nine points.

Auburn's record falls to 5-9 as they prepare to host No. 8 Texas A&M Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. C.T. Coverage can be found on the SEC network.
