Auburn Defeats Tennessee on Homecoming Night

Auburn, AL (EETV)- Auburn defeated Tennesse by a final score of 30-17 in Gus Malzahn's 100th home game as head coach.

"First of all, I’m real proud of our team," Malzahn said, "Quality win against a talented team. We hadn’t played in 21 days. The first quarter we were sleep-walking a little bit. We had the interception in the end zone. In the second quarter, we woke up and started playing Auburn football."

Auburn's offense found their rythm as quarterback Bo Nix found a wide open Anthony Schwartz for a 54 yard touchdown pass. Anders Carlson would give Auburn. the lead on two field goals from 25 and 27 yards out.

Cornerback Smoke Monday made huge interception in the third quarter, taking it 100 yards for the touchdown to put Auburn up by ten.

The Tiger's offense reached the end zone again as D. J Williams would seal the victory with a nine yard rushing touchdown.

Auburn's record moves to 5-2 and they will go to Alabama looking to beat the Crimson Tide for the second straight year.
