Auburn Announces August Commencement Plans

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The commencement for Auburn University's summer and spring graduates is scheduled for August 8th.

Commencement, scheduled to take place inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, will be split into two ceremonies, one in the morning at 7 am and the other in the evening at 7 pm. The morning ceremony will celebrate students graduating from the Harbert College of Business; Samuel Ginn College of Engineering; College of Architecture, Design and Construction; School of Nursing; and School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences. The evening ceremony will celebrate graduates from the College of Agriculture; College of Education; College of Human Sciences; College of Liberal Arts; and College of Sciences and Mathematics.

All graduates will be required to wear face masks, however, they will be permitted to remove their face coverings as they cross the stage for photographs. Students will also be handed a copy of The Auburn Creed from President Gogue rather than shake his hand.Currently guests are invited but will have to follow social distancing guidelines while in the stands. Guests are also encouraged to wear masks. Hand sanitizer will be available and easily accessible for students and guests, and stadium surfaces will be disinfected between ceremonies.

While the plan is to be outside to celebrate graduates, contingency plans are being developed in case of sever weather or changes to Covid-19 regulations.

Separate ceremonies will be held on Aug. 1 for the College of Veterinary Medicine and Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn Arena. For questions regarding commencement, please contact aucommencement@auburn.edu.
