Auburn University cancels classes until 2 p.m. due to severe weather

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn University will be shut down this morning as severe weather moves into the Auburn area.
The university sent students an AU Alert at 5:30 a. m. Thursday morning and said the university will reopen at 1 p. m.

At 6:30 a.m the university pushed back classes again sending out a weather alert stating classes will resume at 2:00 p.m.

Lee County Schools and Auburn City Schools have closed for the day. The Auburn area is currently under a tornado watch. That watch expires at 12 p. m. today and a flash flood watch expires at 6 p. m.

Greene Hall at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Draughon Library are open and will remain open for the duration of the Tornado Watch.
