Extension cord tied as noose found in residence hall

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - On Wednesday, Nov. 20, an extension cord tied as a noose was found in the common area of an on-campus residence hall.

According to Auburn University Campus Safety and Security, it was quickly removed, and an investigation is underway.

Nooses are symbols of racial violence in our country. Campus Safety and Security's message states that this behavior has no place on Auburn's campus and is antithetical to the values of the Auburn Family.

On Friday, Nov. 22, Campus Safety and Security notified the Auburn University Community that the individual responsible was identified. The department does not comment on matters of individual conduct.
