Auburn Uses Big First Half to Defeat Colgate

Auburn, AL(EETV)- Auburn basketball continues to light it up at home as they took down Colgate 91-62. Auburn portrayed exceptional confidence quickly taking advantage with a 15-5 run in the opening six minutes of the game.

The Tigers scored 53 points in the first half and only allowed 21 points in the first half as the defense forced 11 turnovers in the game.

During the second half, Colgate came back out on the court with a different mindset it seemed scoring a total of 41 points doubling their points from the first half; however, it was still not enough to defeat the Tigers who remain unbeaten this season. Auburn's five starting players totaled 69 points in the game alone.

Samir Doughty led the Tigers in points with a total of 20 on 7-13 shots made and 4 of those shots from the three-point line. J'Von McCormick followed with 14 points on 6-12 shots and reigning SEC Freshman ofthe Week Isaac Okoro added 11.

All five starters were in double digits tonight as they continue to share the wealth offensively. The Tigers shot 53 percent from the field and 35 percent from three point range.

Auburn will take this week off to prepare for. a trip to Brooklyn, NY where they will face New Mexico State at 8:30PM on Monday night. The game can be seen on ESPNNEWS.
