Independent bookstore coming to Auburn this fall

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers, an independent bookstore, will be coming to downtown Auburn this fall.

Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers is June and Mike Armor’s second bookstore. They have one located in Greenville, South Carolina called M. Judson Booksellers which opened in July 2015.

June Wilcox and her husband Mike Armor are no strangers to the Auburn area. The name of the bookstore was inspired by the many gas stations Armor’s father owned around town called Auburn Oil Company.

Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers and its sister store are Southern-based establishments that revolve around a sense of community. Their mission is “to share the love of books and community”.

Famous author and Auburn alum Ace Atkins took to Facebook to show his support for the bookstore. “Can’t wait to share more and looking forward to seeing my friends on the Plains very soon,” Atkins wrote.

Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers will host many events such as poetry readings, open mic nights, Lunch and Lit programs, book clubs, cocktail nights and more.

You can find Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers on Facebook and Instagram. Their website is auburnoilbooksellers.com and their sister store’s website is mjudsonbooks.com

Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers is located at 149 E. Magnolia Avenue, Suite 101. They plan to open the bookstore in October.
