ORIGINAL STORY:

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- On Friday, April 20, 2018, Auburn Police arrested Andrew Benjamin Cantley, age 24, from Auburn, on a warrant charging him with possession of child pornography.

The arrest stems from an investigation into a report filed on March 26, 2018, in reference to inappropriate photographic images of a female under the age of 17 being disseminated and posted on an online social media site. Cantley was developed as a suspect and subsequently arrested on unrelated charges on April 16. Electronic and data storage devices were recovered in his possession and examined; they contained explicit images of a known under age female. Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest charging him with possession of child pornography and took him into custody.
Cantley was transported to the Lee County Jail where he was being held on a $10,000 bond. The case remains under investigation and more charges are anticipated.
