Men's Tennis Overcomes Slow Start to Beat South Alabama

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Men's tennis comes from behind to defeat South Alabama Friday 4-3.The Tigers lost the doubles point early in the match.

Auburn got off to a fast start with the duo of Carles Sarrio and Diego Chavarria winning 6-1, but the Jaguars would strike back winning 7-5 in No. 2 doubles. 

The doubles point would come down to No.1 match which would be won 7-6 in a tiebreak by Clement Marzol and Cloes Loic of South Alabama.

Auburn fought back in singles getting wins from Olle Thestrup and Tad Maclean giving Auburn a 2-1 lead. The Jaguars would not go away, winning two singles matches to get them within one point of clinching the match.

The Tigers would come back to win the match as Brandon Laubser grinded out a 3rd set victory 6-1 5-7 6-2. 

The win puts the Tigers at 8-3 on the year and 7-1 in home matches.

Auburn will return to action on February 24th as they play in the Blue/Gray Invitational in Montgomery, Alabama.
