Presidential Candidate Profile: Porter Kennedy

Auburn, Ala.(EETV)- Porter Kennedy believes that he can bring about more student ideas to better enhance Auburn University. Porter is currently a Junior, majoring in Finance from Montgomery, AL. He says that he is someone who is very in touch to what the students want.

"I can bring the students ideas to the [administration] at Auburn in order to find the solutions..I know what the students want and I can get those things implemented and get them done."

Porter is currently a member of the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) here on campus and he has just launched a social media app called Ink Connect Friends, it is now available on the App Store and Playstore. This past summer he did an internship in Washington, DC with the House of Representatives. By being involved in all of these activities Porter believes that he is qualified to be your Student Government Association (SGA) President.

"Army ROTC is great experience, a lot of leadership experience, I've worked in national politics in Washington, DC., I've got an inside look on a lot of how these things work."

If elected, Porter will focus on three main things: football ticketing, parking, and dining.

With football ticketing he wants to get rid of the penalty system and make the transfer ticket between ignited cards an easier process. "This will make it an overall better experience, it was better when we had the [original] process."

For parking, he wants to build a new parking deck on campus. "We want to get more students in preferred parking, I've already talked to some administrators about some places to put it and it's definitely in the cards for the university."

With dining he wants to build a new dining facility right next to the green space. "I want to build a new dining facility, kind of like the wellness kitchens style, but not another fast food place."

"We are doing big things here, not small things."
