Soccer shuts out Kentucky at home

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Soccer defeated Kentucky 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. The team’s performance continues to improve, as they carry on their undefeated streak in the Southeastern Conference (2-0-1).

Auburn started out on top, as claiming the lead during the first half. Sophomore Bri Folds, scored the first goal in the early minutes of the game, giving Auburn a 1-0 lead.

Senior Kristen Dodson set up Bri Folds for the first goal and later added to the lead with two goals of her own.

The Tiger defense also stood their ground, only allowing five shots for the game.

Goalie Sarah Le Beau played all 90 minutes to preserve the victor, while Caroline Bado was an anchor for the defensive back line.

"Any time you can put away an SEC team in the first half with 3 goals and limit them to one goal, one shot on goal, it's a really great performance," said Coach Karen Hoppa.

Auburn will travel to  Mississippi State Friday (Sept. 29). Kickoff is set to start at 7 p.m.
