Carlee Wallace departs from the Auburn Softball team

The Auburn Softball team just lost one of their key players for the upcoming season. Rising senior Carlee Wallace was granted release from the program June 15.

Auburn will have a big role to fill as they lose one of their offensive weapons. This past season, Wallace had a .333 batting average, seven home runs and 52 RBIs.

The reason for her departure is unknown, but Head Coach Clint Myers commented on the matter by saying, "she had a great three years here at Auburn…We hate to see her go, but wish her well. She will always be a Tiger" (AL.com)

Looking ahead Catcher Courtney Shea will be looking to fill her shoes for the upcoming season. The rising senior appeared in 59 games this past season and had a .243 batting average, 5 home runs and 33 RBIs.
