Off-Broadway Friends Musical to Premiere in Fall 2017

Could you BE anymore excited? A parody musical adaptation of Friends will be there for you starting this fall. Friends: The Musical will premiere off-Broadway at the Triad Theatre in New York City and is created by Bob and Tobly McSmith, who have also created musical parodies of Full House, Saved by the Bell, and Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The musical will both celebrate and poke fun at the beloved 90s sitcom. McSmith told Entertainment Weekly: “Oh and there will be a smelly cat, there will be Janice, and there will be Fat Monica.” There is no word if any of the cast will be involved but McSmith hopes that they will come to the show and possibly be on stage for a night or two. Some of the original songs that will be featured in the musical include:

“The Only Coffee Shop in New York City”

“45 Grove Street — How Can We Afford This Place?”

“How You Doing, Ladies?” — Joey

“Hey Ugly Naked Guy Who Lives Across the Street!”

“We Were On a Break!”

“I’m Gonna Hump U” — Marcel

“Oh. My. God. It’s Janice!” — Janice

“Will They or Won’t They” — Ross and Rachel

“The Ballad of Fat Monica”

“Could I BE Anymore…..in Love with Monica” — Chandler

“The One Where We Make a Million Dollars An Episode”

“We’ll Always Be There For You”

Tickets will go on sale in June.
